Be the best you can be!

"Be the best you can be!" This is the phrase that help me to be confident, to be the best I can be. I joined the Regional Cluster Journalism Workshop, last July 1, 2011 and was held at San Yat Sen, Iloilo. This activity was encouraging all Ilonggo writers to join, and I am one of them. It was fun having workshop with other schools. There were workshops for every category on how to make the writing more effective and interesting. And after the workshop we were encourage to apply what we have learned. Our writings for every category are the basis for the competition. They invite three source speaker from the different parts of Panay. I spend one whole day in the workshop with my classmates. I wrote editorial and feature writing, both were in English. Before the workshop ended they declared that the awarding will be the next they at the Robinsons.

I was excited for the awarding day, but I don't expect to win because I know I didn't take it seriously. During the awarding day, many were excited to know if they were included at the list of the winners. My hypothesis was correct, my writings did not win. Frankly, I was hurt, not because I didn't get any award but because I didn't do my best, if I just take it seriously. This experience really help me learn my lesson that if you are given the chance take it seriously and do your best. But I believe this is not the time to give up and I will continue in pursuing.

  1. Yey! Good attitude! Next time do your best. Don't be disheartened because you eventually might win. I joined this contest when I was in HS too. Sometimes, pakibot man ang pagdaog. You just have to do your best! :)
